The tables show when and why a smoker wants to give up smoking. Based on the information that it provides, majority of them wants to stop smoking to improve their health in general and most of them who wish to stop, intend to give up within 6 months.
Referring to it, a total of 71% of smokers want to have a better health in general, followed by financial considerations at 31% and less chance of getting smoking-related illness at 25%. However, The least common reason is family pressure and present health problem ( 25% and 16%)
Based on the other table, they who smoke less than 10 cigarettes has the highest percentage of people who tend to give up meanwhile them who smoke more than 20 cigarettes are less likely to stop. In spite of that, 35% of them who wants to stop, are planning to cease within 6 months followed by within next year at 21% and lastly within next month at with just half of next year
