This graph illustrates the proportion of population aged 65 years and over in the USA, Sweden and Japan. From the year 1940 to 2040. Firstly, as you can see by the graph Japan has experienced a shortness in population in the year 1940 where it was only 5% of the population aged 65 years and over following that it has remain relatively low from the year 1960 to the year 2000. In the year 2020 japan has increased dramatically up to around 26%. Secondly, The USA had the highest proportion of population aged 65 years and over in between these three countries it started to increase up to 15% from the year 1960 to 1980. The USA experienced a minor decrease in population and by the year 2040 it has worked itself up to 23%. Finally, as the graph shows Sweden started with 6% of people aged 65 and over in the year 1940 then it started to increase through the years Moreover it has reached 25% by the year 2040.
