The two maps illustrate the changes which have taken place in a public park, namely Grange park between 1920 and now. Overall, this park has been transformed, with more play area, Amphitheatre and water feature having been built. With regard to the western part of the park, one interesting change is that the stage for musicians has been replaced with an Amphitheatre for concerts. Another striking change is that the Rose garden in the south-west of the park has been knocked down. Moreover, the fountain in the center of the park has been demolished to make way for a new Rose garden. In 1920, there used to be four sets of seats near the two Rose gardens in the north-west and south-west of the park, but they have been transferred to around the new rose garden which has been constructed in the center part of the park. If we look at the eastern part of the park, there used to be a pond for water plants, but, now, it has been converted to a children’s play area. Another striking development is that the rose garden in the eastern part of the entrance from ARNOLD AVENUE has been replaced with a cafe. As for the south-east part, we can see that the glass feature and the seats have been removed to build a new water feature. A final interesting development is that a new entrance underground car park has been provided in the south-east part of the park.
