The two given maps provide information about the organisation of Langley town over forty years from 1910 to 1950.
Overall, it is clear that the town developed significantly from an industrial place with factory and wastelands to a well-organized city with the newest houses and entertainment area and great organized facilities.
In 1910, the town had two main roads with Townhouses on both sides. To the right of Jordan Street and above the houses of Sherman Street, there was the location of a factory with a first wasteland to the right. On the one side of the named road, below the waste location, there was a store and a laundry, the cafe located on the opposite side of the road. Directly under it and the half of Sherman Street's houses, Railway workers’ cottages were at the right down corner of the map with the second space for waste.
After 40 years, Langley city had been changed significantly, with new buildings. Jordan and Sherman Streets had been reminded at the same places, but New Lane road had appeared paralleling Jordan Street and crossing Sherman Street. Townhouses on the left side of the Jordan had been supplanted by Flats, other living places, also as wastelands and factories had been demolished. On the upper side of Sherman Street, Sherman Mansions had been built, while on the other side of the street had been created Sherman Park with a children’s play area. Other facilities had been replaced to the right side of the New Lane with two additional stores.
