The two charts illustrate the total value of fish brought in the US from Canada, China, and other countries from 1988 to 2000.
Overall, it is evident that the fish value increased dramatically while the proportion of the imported fish from Canada decreased sharply over this period. The trend in China and other countries rose considerably over this period.
In 1988 the total value of the item was 6. 57 billion dollars which went up to 10. 72 billion dollars in 2000. On the other hand, in the first year, the vast majority of fish were brought into the US from Canada which was 60% of the total but went down to 28% in 2000. On the contrary, the percentage of importing from other countries and china surged gradually from 13% to 30% and from 27% to 42% respectively during the period given.
It can be seen that importing fish to the US was not quite popular among china and other countries at first, however, it was noticed gradually as the price escalated as well.
