The recapitulation data of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas sales in million euros in five European states in 1999 and 2004 are compared in the given tables. It is worth noting that the highest coffee sales were in Switzerland (1999) and the UK (2004) while the largest market for Fairtrade-labelled bananas was in Switzerland in both periods.
To begin with, in the first period, the sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee in Switzerland were only three million euros which were two times the UK and Denmark coffee sales. Belgium and Sweden witnessed similar sales, one million euros approximately. Average sales of coffee in 2004 saw higher in all countries and the highest sales presented by the UK, 20 million of ueros.
Turning into another table, bananas sales in UK and Belgium showed the least market, just around one million of euros while in Sweden and Denmark was two folds. The majority of Fairtrade-labelled banana in 2004 was higher than in 1999. Interestingly, Switzerland has the biggest sales in both years, 15 and almost 50 million ueros respectively.
