The table shows the proportions of pupils attending four secondary school types between 2000 and 2009

The given data represent the percentage of students in four types of secondary schools in 2000-2009. Overall, the percentage of students who went to Specialist, Grammar, and Voluntary-controlled Schools decreased consistently over the given period. Community schools, however, increased by four times from its initial number by the end of 2009. Interestingly, Voluntary-controlled Schools led in 2000 before overtaken by Community schools nine years later. Started at 12% in 2000, specialist school decreased by 1% thereafter over the nine years. This trend followed by grammar schools in which consistently decreased by 5% and 7% in 2005 and 2009 respectively. On the other hand, voluntary-controlled schools showed the greatest percentage fall. It was led at first in 2000 with 52% students attending its school, but then decreased substantially to 38% in 2005 and finally decreased sharply by 18%. On the contrary, community schools initial percentage in 2000 was only 12%, but then increased almost three times in 2005 and finally reached 58% in 2009.
