The table showed data about the national expenditure on basic needs items across five different countries in 2002. Overall, the most numerous spending had been occupied by Turkey than other countries combined. Moreover, foods/beverages/cigarettes became the essential commodities purchasing in every region while the least common expenditure was from leisure/education sectors. Regarding primary needs, Turkey has invested most in this area, as much as 32, 14%, followed by Ireland with exactly 28, 9%. These vast expenditures were over double compared to Sweden and Spain. In terms of secondary needs, Italians spend more on clothing/footwear than the others at 9. 00% which is one-third higher than Sweden. Other countries shopped for a similar amount of money with a range of 5-7%. Compared to other goods elements, leisure/education is the lowest spending which is below than 5% for all countries, with the highest point being gained by Turkey (4. 35%). The percentages of leisure/education balanced for than a 10 times higher than the meals/tobacco industries.
