The table illustrates how many pupils in percentage attended in for secondary schools from 2000 to 2009. Overall, most of the secondary schools had decreasing number of enrollees throughout the period in contrast to community schools which consistently logged-in high numbers of attendees over time. In details, voluntary-controlled schools had the most number of pupils (52%) in 2000. This is more than a half greater than grammar schools and approximately fivefold from the rest of the schools, however, plummeted in 2005, at 38% and further took a plunge at the end of the period at 20%. Grammar schools which had 24% attendees in 2000 shown a gradual decreased in number of its pupils attending to only 12% in 2009. The specialist schools and community schools started with identical number of children at 12%, over time, the trend of these schools were apparently opposite. The former had a slow decline reaching its low point in 2009 at 10% while the latter showed a skyrocket in 2005 at 32% and reached its highest number of attendees at the end of the period at 58% becoming the most popular school in this year.
