The table compares the proportions of people using 7 different mobile phone features of their phones over a period of 4 years. Overall, cell phone owners use their phones mostly to make calls. It is also noticeable only that the rate of cell phone owners using calling feature fell over the period shown. From 2006 to 2010, a slight fall of 1% was seen in the percentage of people who used their phones to make calls. By contrast, the figures for users taking photos and sending & receiving text messages rose gradually to 76% and 79% respectively. Also, the period between 2008 and 2010 witnessed a significant climb by 32% in the proportion of people using their phones to search the Internet. Turning to the other 3 handset features it can be seen that they are not as popular as the 4 features mentioned above. To be specific, the proportion of mobile phone owners using music play feature rose significantly by 14% in 2010. Likewise, the percentage of cell phone owners using their phones to record video rose almost fourfold to 35% at the end of the period. Meanwhile, the figure for users playing games which rose from 17% in 2006 to 42% in 2008, then fell slightly to 41% in the final year.
