The table illustrates the proportion of fuel type used to generate electricity in 5 Asian countries namely Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea and Japan in the year 2005.
Overall, it is observed that different countries use various types in order to generate electricity.
The data suggests that, in the field of Nuclear fuel Japanese has the major contribution with 49% while South Korea is the second main contributor with 33%. We can see that Thailand doesn't consume Nuclear power to produce electricity. Moving forward, Malaysia and Singapore consume more amount of coal and lignite to generate electricity accounted for 64 percent and 42 percent respectively. On the other hand, Petroleum is the most utilized by Thailand(36%) whereas, all the other countries were merely under 3 percent for this category.
Furthermore, Hydro and Wind is the highest consumed by South Korean's(41%) followed by Thailand(19%) However, the lowest was consumed by rest of the regions(Just under 5%). It is interesting to note that, at least more than 10% of all the five Asian countries utilize other refineries in order to generate electricity out of which Thailand tops the table(42%).
