Overall, alternate sources of energy are seemingly preferred more in all five nations while the contribution of the other sources varied greatly in the four nations. Other sources are a major contributor in Thailand with 42%. Coal is a major producer of electricity in Malaysia and Singapore with 61% and 42% respectively. Petroleum products generate power the most in Thailand with 36% compared to the other sovereign nations. In contrast, nuclear power is a major contributor in South Korea and Japan with 33% and 49% respectively. Thailand uses virtually no nuclear power. Petroleum supplies 3% or less in every country except Thailand. Hydro and wind contribute the least in Singapore and Japan with 3%. Coal pitches in the with the least with 3% in Thailand.
