The two given pictures demonstrate the number of daily stays in public and privately owned hospitals surveyed in five different Australian states last year, and the same figures are illustrated in percentages. Overall, public hospitals owned the highest number of resident patients, accounting for more than half of both types of stays in the past year. Take a look at these images, we can see that government-owned hospitals welcomed nearly two-thirds of dwellers, occupying 30% for each period of the day. In which, the majority of stays were recorded in general hospitals, while the number at psychiatric hospitals was quite modest. Comparing the five states, New South Wales possessed the maximum patient stay with 6097 visits, almost four times the number in South Australia. Meanwhile, the private medical facilities provided fewer shelters for patients. The combined number of residents at these properties during the day and night represented only one-third of the total last year, at 26% and 14% respectively. Victoria was the state of the highest number of privately hospitalized people with 2235 stays, whilst only 617 visits were registered in South Australia.
