The table provides information regarding on the usage of various types of transportation in Shanghai in 1996, and it shows prediction of its popularity in 2020. From the information provided by table, it is clearly seen that bus was the most popular type of transport by reaching its peak of 39 per cent in 1996. It is followed by the second most popular transport- bicycle with 27 per cent. Whereas the usage of cars and scooters were relatively low, as well as walking. It is predicted that the usage of cars will drastically increase to 52 per cent from 15 per cent in 2020. While the figure of bicycles and buses are expected to fall to 7 per cent and 22 per cent respectively. Other methods of transportation are also supposed to show downward trend by 2020. Furthermore, train becomes available by 2020 occupying 15 per cent. Overall, cars will become the most popular transport throughout the years, meanwhile other types of transport will be used less.
