The table presents the proportion of forest land in four countries, namely Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and Chile, in the years1990 and 2005 with the projection of 2020.
Overall, it can seem, the land covered by the forest has declined in Australia and Brazil, even the proportion will drop till 2020. On the contrary, in New Zealand and Chile, the situation was and will be the opposite.
In Australia, the percentage of forest land area was 21. 9%, and till 2005, it was nearly the same, it will drop by 1%, in 2020. In the contradiction, In New Zealand, from 1990 to 2005 the percentage of land covered by forest has risen from 28. 8 to 31. 0%. Even the forest land will have increased to 32. 3% in 2020.
Even more, in Brazil, the proportion of forest land is larger among all the three countries. In 1990, around 60% of the land was forest, which has decreased by 3% in 15 years even as per the projection it will drop by more than 4% in 2020. Whereas, in Chile, every 15 years, the percentage of forest land is increasing by 1%.
