The process of making silk GL6Ex
The diagrams give information about the life circle of the silkworm and the process of the production of silk cloth. The first diagrams show change in the life of the silkworm. Firstly, the butterfly birds eggs on the leaf and 10 days after these eggs open and become silkworms. They eat a lot mulberry leaf and growth up day by day. They have about 4 – 6 weeks to be mature. After this time, the silkworms begin to make silk threads. The end of the silk threads, they look live an oval while cotton. They are called cocoon. They will be in this shape on 16 days and then they will be open and become a butterfly. The butterfly will continue to the circle life of silkworm. The second diagram shows the production of silk cloth. In the first step, the cocoon are selected and boil in the water. The second step is unwinding. The cocoon is unwinded and draged out to threads. One cocoon may make an thread which have length about 300 to 900 miter. The third step is twisting and weaving. These threads will be dyed and some threads will be twisted to become a thread. After that, the thread will be weaving. They are called the silk. People will use these silk to make clothes.
