The pie charts show energy production in Spain in 2008 and 2017. qV5eX
The given pair of pie charts compare the different sources of energy in Spain for the two years, 2008 and 2017. Overall, the usage of fossil fuels like Oil and Coal has experienced a drop over time where the other sources such as renewables and nuclear power have filled up the gap. First of all, in 2008, most of the energy was produced from Oil and Coal which covered around 55% of the total energy production. It is clearly visible that over the period of 10 years there is a significant amount of decrease in both of these energy sources. Around 4% fall is observed in Oil usage resulting it to contribute only 23% of the entire energy in Spain, where energy produced from Coal is reduced to 17% in 2017 from a sharp 28% in 2008. On the other hand, there is a clear rise in the other energy sources like the Renewables, Nuclear Power and Gas. The usage of Nuclear sources has risen by a considerable amount of 6%. The Gas has been stable mostly as it has increased by only 1%. Both the Renewables and other sources are almost doubled over the years.
