The pie charts demonstrate the proportion of water consumed by 5 various parts in Sydney and Australia in two year 1997 and 2007. Overall, there was an increase in the percentage of water used by households and manufacturing, while the opposite was true for the others. It is also notable that the water consumption of the food industry was the highest figure over the period shown. As can be seen from the chart, the proportion of water consumed by manufacturing witnessed a significant increase from 13% to 25%, while the figure of households grew slightly from 19% to 21% by 2007. The water consumption of the food industry decreased sharply from 48% to 41%, while the percentage of water used by the service industry fell moderately from 15% to 11% between 1997 and 2007. At the same time, there was a moderate decline from 5% to 2% in the amount of water consumed by the building industry.
