The pie charts below show the percentage of housing owned and rented in the UK in 1991 and 2007. Summarize the information by describing the main features of the charts and making comparisons where appropriate. You should write at least 150 words.

The pie charts illustrate the proportion of housing on four different categories in the UK for two separate years. Overall, it is noticeable that the number of houses in the UK increased prominently to 27 million homes in 2007 compared to only 22 million homes in 1991. According to the pie chart, the number of home owner accelerated from 60 percent in 1991 to 70 percent in 2007, was the highest portion shown on both two pie charts. The 23 percent of British people rented social houses in 1991 while the proportion of social housing was just only 6 percent. In 2007, there were small decrease on those two kinds of housing at 17 percent and 2% respectively. It can be seen that the rate of private renting in the UK remained stable in both 1991 and 2007, at 11 percent.
