Given the illustration of the materials used to recycle in three different areas, namely Sydney, Melbourne, and on a global scale.
Overall, it is interestingly noted that the majority of the respondents’ recycling habits are different in each area. Paper is recorded to be the most favorably recycled waste, whereas Australian residents claim to reuse the materials differently in the two most populous cities in this country.
As is shown in the worldwide’s figure, glass receives the least number of respondents related to recycling purposes. In the leading position, the majority of the residents choose to reuse paper the most as merely over a half claim so. Being a mostly indisposable type of waste, plastics account for marginally more than a third while approximately 10% of the population decide to recycle glass since it is a hazardous material once broken.
In contrast, the demonstrations of Australian cities observe an opposite order of the listed categories. For Sydney’s residents, exactly two-fifths of the population reuse plastics for further purposes, whereas glass ranks the second in terms of the number of people recycling it with just 2% lower. Coming in the last position is paper, which doubles the figure of glass’s recycler recorded worldwide. With regards to Melbourne residents, glass substitutes and tops the list with an outstanding figure of 55%. Regarding the remaining categories, they share roughly similar figures, specifically, 24% and 21% for paper and plastics, respectively.
