The picture represented above shows how wasted glass bottles are recycled and brought to use again.
This process is cyclic and has 11 steps categorized into 3 stages, where every step serves a purpose.
In the first stage, the wasted glass bottles are brought to a collection point. Then they are transported to a glass bottle plant. In the second stage, The bottles are then cleaned with high-pressure water jets. Afterwhich they are sorted according to color ie. Clear, green, brown. The sorted bottles are then sent to a glass factory where they shatter the bottles into glass pieces. This helps in increasing the surface area for the next step. Which is to put the glass pieces into a furnace with a temperature of about 600°C to 800°C. This step also removes impurities in the glass, that may have been missed like paper and plastic. The result is recycled liquid glass which is then mixed with new liquid glass and put into a mould.
This brings us to the final step, the empty bottles are filled and branded by companies. The bottles are then sent out to the supermarket and are ready for sale.
