Last year, when asked if email helps them to communicate with people they would otherwise be unable to communicate with, 22 per cent of email users agreed and another 43 per cent agreed strongly. Only 7 per cent responded that they disagreed and 10 per cent responded that they disagreed strongly. Just under a fifth were not sure either way. By this year, opinions had changed dramatically. The percentage of those who strongly disagreed halved, while the proportion who disagreed fell by just over a quarter. Correspondingly, the percentage of those who agreed or strongly agreed rose.
