Overall, It can be observed that there is an upward trend in the number of hours with slight fluctuation towards the end of the given time period with scope for improvement. During the early decade of 1950 to 1960, the leisure time spent by children viewing the television set was less than an hour, which gradually increased mid-1960’s to over one hour. The spike remained constant at four hours per day. There is a dip in the television watching time around the year 1983 and remained in a similar manner till 1986. After 1986, the indoor time moderately rose to slightly above 4 hours per day. After 1995, there is a gradual decline in the television time to a quarter-hour less to the overall highest time of 4 hours.
