The two maps below depict the evolution of a seaside village from 1995 to the current day.
As is evident from the picture, after the increases in accommodation and tourist facilities, the village experienced significant change. Green spaces, fishing activities, and farming have all suffered as a result of these infrastructural improvements.
It is clear that farmlands have been transformed into tourism attractions. In particular, a dock for fishing boats was redesigned for yachts in the south, while a local fish market was removed to make space for new condominium towers. In addition, farms and woodland that existed on the village's north eastern edge in 1995 have been destroyed, and a golf course and tennis court have been built.
With regard to the village’s center, the terrain has been significantly urbanized. Specifically, the road, which formerly ran north-south, has now been expanded to the west. To accommodate more visitors, holiday houses were created on the site of a former public park, besides, residences and hotels were also expanded. Food and beverage facilities have also been upgraded as well by replacing sport houses with restaurants while keeping the coffee shops.
