The maps illustrate the alternations of the Stokeford village over the 80 years-period between 1930 and 2010.
As can be seen, there were various changes in Stokeford while the bridge and the post office stayed unchanged. The most noticeable change was the parts of the garden which was converted to a retirement home for older people.
We can obviously see River Stoke located in the East of the Storeford village. Half of the village area was farmland raising many cows by farmers. In addition, Strokeford did not have public places; however, some shops, the post office, and primary school were along the main streets. The striking point is that the garden containing three large houses was situated in the middle of the rural area. The period from 1930 to 2010, in the Northwest, the shops were demolished and converted to more residential places. While the post office, the bridge, and elementary school remained their own locations on the Westside and the East of the main road respectively but there was an expansion of the school buildings which were opposite each other on both sides of the road in 2010. Besides, the two numerous farmlands were destroyed to make way for a lot of new houses. The retirement home and some new roads were built to replace the garden and the large house.
