The maps below illustrate the present layout of the Islip Town Centre and the future layout which showcases the planned development. At a first glance, we can observe some major changes include the construction of a bus station, car park and a shopping center. Currently, the Centre consists of the main road surrounded by a series of shops on either side. The countryside is located towards the North whereas a school is located towards the South of the Centre. Various housing facilities are present in the middle as well as in the South. A school and a park are situated near the housing facilities. The development plans focus on converting the main road to a pedestrians zone. A ring road will be built which would encompass the entire Centre. Various facilities like a shopping Centre, car park, bus station and new housing complexes will be constructed to replace the line of shops located in the North.
