The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.

The given maps illustrate the current Islip town center and a suggested plan for developing the town. Overall, the new dual road has been considered around the center of town which will connect the school to park, north part of the town and driven roads to west and east. Regarding the upper sector of the map, there is a straight main road between two rows of the shops on the current map, whilst in the plan, the middle part of the main road has switched to a pedestrian precinct. Also, the shops locating northern of the main road have been converted to the bus station, shopping center, car park and new housing from west to east, respectively. All in all, the center area will be developed toward the countryside in the north. Turning to the lower part of the map, according to the plan, the shops under the main road will remain unchanged, but new housing has been planned near the park. This park will witness a decrease in its size due to the construction of the new dual carriageway.
