The maps illustrate the major developments that occurred in the Spanish city called Castellon from 1980 to 2010. Overall, the city witnessed a dramatic change from a mostly residential area to a much more modern urban landscape with significantly fewer trees and open spaces. The city center was allowed with a new bike rental scheme. To the north of the city center, a new train station was constructed and a tramline was installed that connected the city center and the university which was remained the same in Castellon over the period. In the northeast of the city center, to the east of the university, the tiny forest was cut down to made way for a new shopping centre. To the south of the shopping centre, two new public facilities were construction which was the airport and the new covered market respectively. Similarly, to the west of the university, a new hall of residence was constructed in the vacant land. To the south of the hall of residence, the train station was replaced by a police station and the ancient market also was converted by a new shop. To the south of the city centre, a road was converted for pedestrians only. Moreover, the cinema and bars and clubs were built on the pristine port area.
