The maps demonstrate the changes which occurred in Frenton since 1990 to 2012. Overall, it is clear that the population of Frenton had been increasing since more flats were build at the expense of houses and playing fields with trees. In 1990, the city of Frenton had consisted of a school, bank, library, hospital, and playing area with trees. To the south of the library, there had been a green zone, while to the east there had been houses, café and park, and some shops opposite the theatre. In 2012, however, only the school, library and hospital remained from the previous version of Frenton. The territory of the hospital more than doubled in size, meanwhile the bank was replaced by the restaurant. The green zone with trees was demolished and a technopark was constructed on that territory, whereas blocks of flats overtook the land previously occupied by the playing field with trees. The most significant developments were the construction of a hotel and golf course at the expense of the café and park, and the houses were destroyed to make way for the blocks of apartments. Moreover, to the north of the hotel new flats also were build up, whether to the south the theatre was replaced by a cinema, and a supermarket was established in the lieu of the shops. To sum up, the described changes were initiated by the growth of the population and a possible influx of tourists.
