The map indicate the transformation of Frenton from 1990 to 2012 In brief, the map was divided into left and right parts of the High Street to the west and east respectively. Only new flats on the right side of the road were completely new built while others remained unchanged in size like school, library, road or changed the purpose of use like others. Looking at the maps more closely, one can see that the change in the west land of the road most focused on changing the purpose of using this building. The bank was reconstructed into a restaurant, trees transformed into a technopark, and playing fields with trees have been replaced into blocks of flats. Only the hospital block stayed where it was and expanded into double size. In the opposite, the theatre, cafe and park, shops changed to cinema, hotel and golf course and supermarket respectively. The house building which has the largest area was also converted into blocks of flats.
