Overall, there was an increase in the number of house burglaries and street robberies, while it experienced a decrease in the number of car theft. In addition, car theft generally had the largest figures throughout the period. The number of car theft started at 350 in 1980, after which it witnessed a steady drop to 250 in 1990. Opposite changes, but a greater extent was seen in the number of house burglaries and street robberies, which grew from just under 200 in 1980 to about 320 crimes in 1990 and from 50 crimes to 100 crimes respectively. From 1990 to 2000, the number of car theft in the US rise significantly to 300 crimes. Conversely, the figures house burglary and street robbery dropped to almost 260 and 60 correspondingly.
