Overall, there was a downward trend in the proportion of Finance and Accounting and Social science, while for Economics, it rose. Education is the only figure which remained unchanged over 30 years. At the start of the period, Finance and Accounting was the most popular subject, which was replaced by Economics in the latest years, followed by Education and Social science.
With regards to the number of students learning Finance and Accounting, it began at 400, rose to 600 in 1995, then witnessed a remaining stable period from 1995 to 200 before peaked at about 650 learners in 2005. After that, the figure gradually fell to below 400 in 2020. Likewise, approximately 300 students studied Education in the first 5 years after which the statistic increases sharply to about 450 in 2000 and dropped back to 300 in the last year. Turning to the number of register of Social science, it only started at around 150 then decrease continuously and gradually to below 100 learners in 2020.
On the other hand, the figure for Economics started at the lowest point with only 100 registers in the first year but rose dramatically throughout the 30 years period and reach a peak of 500 students in the latest year and taken over the first place.
