Overall, products was transported by road the most, followed by water and rail, and lastly via pipeline, which had the less number of tonnes being moved.
To begin, the road was consistently the most used method to transport goods, started with around 70 millions tonnes in 1974 and ended with 100 millions during 2002, all the while facing a moderate flucuation and a minor decline at around 1994 before raised upward again in 1998.
Moving on, the water and therail begun at around the same value at 40 millions. However, water experienced a huge leap during 1978 to 1982. Following that was a steady continuation with a relatively small fall during 1998, but was soon raised up in follwing years. Conversely, rail met a rather persistent decline with some minor changes. Lastly, the pipeline which had lesser number that all others method maintain and continuous increases without any fall.
