The line graph compares the changes that take place in the number of visits to and from UK over 20 years while the bar graph illustrates information of popular destinations among UK residents in 1999. Overall, it can be seen that the figure of UK residents and overseas residents rose from 1979 to 1999 which the proportion of visits abroad was significant higher. Regarding popular countries visited by the UK inhabitants, it is worth noting that France was the most common country to visit, whereas the least common was Turkey. By looking at the line graph, nearly 10 million of UK residents visited abroad in 1979, followed by a sharp growth to hit a high of roughly 52 million in 1999. Meanwhile, the percentage of foreigners visited to the UK experienced a marginal increase from 10 million to about 13 million in 1986 before it grew continuously to peak at approximately 28 million. When it comes to popular countries among UK residents, France accounted for the highest figure among five categories which was over 11 million, closely followed by Spain (9 million). The three remaining countries had the same figure (under 5 million) which Turkey was the least preferred destination with roughly 2 million of visitors.
