In general, the consumption of fish remained relatively stable, while that of beef and lamb suffered a severe decline over the period. Chicken became most eaten type of meat at the end of the period. In 1979, beef was consumed more than any other type, with the numbers being well over 200 grams per person in a week. At the same time, about 150 grams of beef and lamb were used by one person. the figure fish constituted for just over 50 grams. The turnaround came in 1989 when the grams of eaten chicken overtook that of beef, which continued falling before ending up at just above 100. At the end of the period, the figure for chicken peaked at over a quarter of a kilo. While the need for lamb decreased to approximately 60 grams, the number of grams for fish did not change throughout shown period
