The line graph illustrates the activities elderly Europeans do in their spare time from 1980s to present. Getting enjoyment out of their leisure pursuits varied in accordance with their tastes within 31 years, but some people became involved in the same activities sometimes. It can be seen that going online and hiking is most popular now while an outdoor activity, playing sport was all time favourite overall. Some activities were more practised than others in the same years. To start with therapeutic activities, they go hiking a lot now than in the 1980s with some dramatic changes from about 20 to 80% which is the highest of all activities. However, playing sports have been popular; 60% in the 1980s, 70% in the 2000s, and 65% each in the 1990s and 2010s, and they spend their leisure by reading around 60 percent in this year and age even though some alterations can be found. The more they tried some new activities, furthermore, the lesser some were done. With the invention of technology, the rate of using internet climbed from under 10 to 50%. Although a few people took part in going to theatre 50% in the 1980s and 30 percent in the 1990s, but it has been gradually recovering from 30% later on.
