The line diagram illustrates expenditures on book by four countries: Italy, France, Austria, Germany in the period of 10 years from 1995 to 2005. It is noticeable that, The general trend for spending money on books was upward over the period shown. While money was spent on books by Germany always higher in comparison with Austria. All the units were measured in million dollars. In the commence of the period, the figure for money was spent on books by Germany was the highest represent at 80. Meanwhile, Austrian spent only 30 on books. France and Italy spent approximately 56 and 50 respectively. There was a remarkable growth in expenditure on books by German from 80 in 1995 to 90 in 1999 before fluctuated and reached the highest point at 96 in the last years. Spending on books by Italian slightly increased to around 55 in 1999s and then noticeably increased in last years. The years 1999 witnessed a minimally rise in the expenditure on books by France and followed by a gradually increased. Austria which spent only 30 at the start sharply risen to 40 in 1999, the rest of the period experience a leap to 61 and overtaken Italia.
