A glance at the graph reveals that while the share of people aged 38 to 45 and 0 to 14 increased, the figure for citizens aged 25-37 and over 65 decreased. The most dramatic fall was seen in the figure for 25-37 years old. In 1950, the people who belonged to the over 65 age group accounted for the highest figure, at approximately 60%, followed by around 20% for 39 to 45 and 25-37 years old. The figure for 0 to 14 years old was lower, at just above 0%. After a period of 40 years, there was an upward trend in the New Zealand's residents who fall into the 38 to 45 and over 65 groups rose steeply to nearly 50% and 70% while the figure for children who aged 0 to 14 declined slightly and hit the bottom. There was a period of stability for people 25 to 37 years old. By 2050, the quantity of people who belong to 38 to 45 and over 65 years old is anticipated to reduce gradually by 10%, a similar pattern can be seen for 25 to 37, with a sharp fall to 0%. In contrast, between 0 to 14 years old will soar rapidly to 20%.
