Overall, it is obvious from the chart that the number of men using cigarettes is higher than women throughout the entire period. Regarding Australian men who smoke cigarettes was approximately 6 millions, meanwhile as 6 times as women in 1960. After that, this figure have a dramatic decrease in the period from 1960 to 1980. In 1980, the number of smoker got a low point, which was 4 millions. Between 1980 and 1995, this number dropped significantly to around 2, 8 million people. But in the end of the period, the figure rose slightly to 3 millions. Turning to women, the people who consumed the cigarettes, accounted for 1 millions at the beginning. Then, it jumped significantly into double in 10 years later. The number of female smoker reached a peak in 1975, which was approximately 3. 5 millions.
