The graphs below show the number of medals won by the top five countries in the summer and winter Olympics. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar charts draw a comparison of the number of medals won by different countries in the winter and summer Olympics. Overall, athletes from Norway and United States managed to win the most number of medals in the summer and the winter Olympics respectively. Russia came last in the winter Olympics but managed a few more gold medals than Canada while France is at the bottom of the chart in the summer Olympics. Participants from Norway succeeded more than 350 times with almost 130 Gold medals in the winter Olympics. On the other hand, United States stood second with almost 300 medals in the same competition. Moreover, Germany grabbed less than 250 medals and gained 3rd position while Russian and Canadian athletes won an almost equal number of rewards with a slight difference.
