Overall, it ic clear that, application enrolled by males in all three courses are relatively higher than female. However, women who applied for science program are slightly more compared to men in the same field. While the other two courses have majority of male applicants.
In terms of Science major, the number of women who enrolled for this course started off with less than 200, 000 in 1980 and maintained in the same rate for a decade whereas, men enrollements experienced a rapid growth from 220, 000 to 590, 000 between the year 1980 and 2000. On the other hand, rate of women applicants had a significant rise from 1990 to 2010 ( about 180, 000 and 710, 000 respectively).
On the other hand, number of male enrollments in both the courses( arts and business) are at peak compared to female enrollements between the years 1980 and 2010. Although, arts had the lowest men applicants with 260, 000 in 1980 however, at the end of the period, it reached up to 610, 000. Likewise, in business program both men and women enrollement experienced severe fluctuations.
