The graphs below compares the foreign and local students joining in Australian universities in a time span of ten years that is from 2001 to 2010. overall, the total number of local students are huge when compared to the overseas students but the former are not very keen in participating in the university studies. in the starting of decade, the count of local students joining in the universities is just a little below 200000 and it is seen that there is slight jump in the year 2002. After that even the total number of students are increasing but the students registering for the universities is considerably flat. In the end of decade, although the total students rise to 600000 but the university students count stayed at about 200000. The overseas students who are joining in the university studies increased consistently as the total number of students increased. Eventhough in the year 2001 the gap between total and registered students is small but the two lines deviated in coming years maintaing upright. At the end of decade the overall students stayed at 80000 but the students interested in university studies are only about 40000
