The line charts illustrate trends about travels between UK residents and overseas residents in the UK from 1982 to 2002. The first graph represents the number of visits to and from the UK, and the second graph shows an average of nights over the time given.
Overall, both numbers of visits consistently rise from 1982 to 2002, but the rate of increase is bigger for UK residents than for overseas residents. In despite of the decrease there are in average time of both residents, British people are above foreigners over the period given.
According to graph 1, UK residents have a significant increase over 20 years period, beginning in 1982 with 20 million and finishing in 2002 with approximately 60 million.
Although both groups get a steady rise, foreign people grow slower than UK residents.
Certainly, despite of graph 2 shows a decrease for both groups, UK residents are over slightly overseas residents. From 1982 there is a 12 nights-averages, whereas in 2002 there was a standard of 10 nights by UK residents. Nevertheless, in the case of overseas residents despite being 1982 with an average of almost 12 nights, ending the period given with about 8 nights as average.
