The first bar chart depicts the time taken for commuting from home to work by a average person in UK, specifically London and the second chart shows the percentage of workers and various forms of travel to the work and home. Both charts data are recorded from 2009. Overall, about 15 to 60 plus minutes are spent by a average UK employee on travel from home to work. The highest proportion of the population use cars for commuting to workplace. Firstly, around 45% of workers takes around 1 to 15min to travel to their work place from home in all of UK except for london which constitutes around 18% of poeple taking the same time. The highest amount of time for traveling is spent by around 15 to 20% of the people. They spend about an average of 31 to 60 plus minutes to travel. Secondly, the most used form of transportation is car where it is used by nearly 80% of the working population from rest of UK that is nearly three times more the people from london followed by train, underground which accounts for around 19% in rest of UK and around 1% from london. The other mode of commute like by bus, bicycle or even by walk, where less than 15% of the total population are using those for commuting. .
