The bar chart shows the proportion of male and female staff members across seven faculties of a particular university in 2012. There is a major disparity in the proportion of male and female academic staff across all faculties. Engineering faculty had the highest percentage of male staff members whereas the education department saw the highest percentage of female staff members. Engineering faculty had the proportion of academic staff with slightly more than 80% of male and little under 20% of females. While on the other side, the education department had the percentage of academic staff with approximately 80% of females with just 25% of males. However, other faculties were balanced if we compare them with Engineering and Education. Interestingly Science and Business had the same percentage of male and female staff members. Medicine saw the same percentage of male and female staff members in their faculty. If we look at Arts and law faculties, Arts had a high proportion of female whereas there was the high percentage of male staff in law faculty with approximate of 60% and 40% on both faculties. If we take a glance at a whole, we see that Arts and Education were pre-dominated by female staff members, On the other side, Science, law, business and engineering were pre-dominated by male staff.
