The line chart provides information about the effectiveness of vaccination on an infant decease - whooping cough during 1940 to 1950. The cases are mentioned in thousands and rate of vaccination is in percentages. Overall, there was a wild fluctuation in the reported cases until vaccination reched at its peake. After that, the number of cases declined. Also, there was a major fall in the vaccination drive around 1975. As can be seen, the reported cases were around 58, 000 in 1940 and it reached to its zenith at approximately 175, 000in the following year. As the vaccination excersice started, the number of cases began to fall. However, it picked up again and almost matches its high in 1952. Meanwhile, the vaccination gained momentum and around 81% children were vaccinated by 1965. This directly resulted in decline of reported cases. However, the vaccination dipped to about 30% in 1975 which resulted in increase of cases. Moreover, the rate of vaccine steadily increased and reached to 94% in the 1990s, which evendentally reduced the whooping cough cases drastically.
