The given graph illustrates how the average salaries have varied in different occupations in America from 1970 to 2010. Overall, there was an upward trend significantly in the average pay of both Engineering and IT, while professional sports experienced the decrease in the average incomes over the period of 40 years. In addition, the rates of the average salary of professional sports still stand the highest ranks over the given period. Turning into details, in 1970, people working in engineering were paid averagely at 35. 000$ which was the lowest position compared to the rest of the jobs. Moreover, the average incomes of IT was moderately higher than that of engineering, accounting for 55. 000$.
