In 1980, only 10% of tourists to Scotland went to Edinburgh Zoo. Despite some minor variations, this figure rose from about 10% in 2000 to 20 % in 2010. The percentage visiting the Castle also increased from 24% in 1980 to almost 45% in 1995. However, this percentage the reduced to 45% and then to about 30 % in 2010, slightly higher than the percentage visting the Festival.
