The graph illustrates the percentage of part-time workers in four countries of the United Kingdom, namely England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales in year 1980 and 2010. It is clear from the graph that the percentage of part-time workers had increased in all of the countries mentioned above, except for Northern Ireland. The percentage of part-time workers in England saw a growth of approximately one-sixth over the three decades, with the percentage of 25% and 31% in year 1980 and 2010 respectively. The figure for Scotland had doubled from 1980 to 2010, making it the country which experienced the most significant growth. Although Wales had the highest percentage of part-time workers in year 1980 (30%), it only experienced a marginal increment of 2-3% over the studied period. Northern Ireland has a witnessed a different trend, the percentage dropped from 15% to 13%, making it the country with the least percentage of part-time workers.
