The graph illustrates the amount of people visiting a specific Caribbean island from the year 2010 to 2017. The overview of the trend shows that the total number of visitors have significantly increased from 2010 to 2017. Starting at 1 million in 2010 all the way up to 3. 5million. Since 2010, most visitors preferred staying on islands rather than on cruise ships but only up till the year 2015. As of 2010, 750 thousand people stayed on land while 250 thousand people opted to stay on cruise ships. 1. 5 million was the maximum number of people staying on the island, which remained stagnant for 3 years straight. 2016 was the long-lasted trend-changing year when visitors staying on cruise ships were more than those staying on the island. This was also the first time in 8 years that the number of visitors staying on the island dipped from 1. 5 million to 1. 25 million, also the total number of tourists also remained the same as in 2015 which was 2. 75 million. The following year, however, was a great success in the total number of visitors as it jumped from 2. 75 million to 3. 5 million.
